The Ranthambore National Park:
Places to stay and eat
The best places to stay are on Ranthambore Rd, but shoe stringers will find the cheapest lodgings in Sawai Madhopur. Many places offer a hefty low-session discount (between May and September).

3km from the train station, once belonged to the Maharaja of Jaipur. Run by the Taj Group, it's suitably luxurious with a pool (open to non residents for Rs 300), bar, restaurant, library and lovely gardens.
Rooms are Rs 2500/3500, and upmarket tented accommodation (with private bath) is Rs 2800 a double.
Ankur Resort

Not far away, is a popular choice with clean rooms with private bath for Rs 400/550. Cottages are Rs 600/750.
Hotel Anurag Resort

Next door, has singles/doubles from Rs 400/500. Dorm beds are Rs 75, and it's possible to camp (in your own tent) for Rs 100.
RTDC's Castle Jhoomar Baori

It is a former royal hunting lodge stunningly located on a hillside, about 7km from the train station. The rooms are not really luxurious, but they do have character. Standard singles/doubles cost Rs 700/800. A Panther suite is Rs 900/1100, while a Tiger or Leopard suite is Rs 1200/1500.
Hammir Wildlife Resort

It has rather neglected rooms with bath for Rs 550/650. There's a nice lawn area and a campfire is lit in the winter.

Tiger Moon Resort

Madhopur) 11km from the train station, has an appealing jungle ambience with its cottages scattered under a canopy of trees. Rates are US$54 per person, including breakfast. Their 'Jungle Plan' includes accommodation, meals and a morning and evening safari (US$92 per person). There's a good restaurant and swimming pool.
