The RTDC offers half and full-day tours of Jaipur and its environs. A full-day tour (9 am to 6 pm) costs Rs 115; there's a lunch break at Nahargarh. Half-day tours are a little rushed but otherwise alright. They cost Rs 75; timings are 8 am to 1 pm, 11.30 am to 4.30 pm and 1.30 to 6.30 pm. Entrance fees to monuments are extra. Tours depart daily from the train station (according to demand), but you can also arrange to be collected from any of the RTDC hotels.

Contact the Tourist Reception Centre or tourist office at the train station for details (see Information, earlier).

Other Tours:

There are RTDC tours (minimum 10 people) to Nahargarh (see around Jaipur) for Rs 150 including dinner. There are also tours to "Chowkhi Dhani", a restaurant near the airport, which has evening traditional folk performances and Rajasthani cuisine (Rs 125).

If you want a taste of rural Rajasthan, the former hunting pavilion, "The Retreat" (where Prince Charles and Princess Diana once visited). It is about 27 km from Jaipur. From here you are whisked away by camel cart to several nearby villages. It costs Rs 500 per person (for a minimum of six people) or Rs 750 per person (for groups of five or less). This includes transport, the village tour and lunch.
